Driving, driving, driving it home…

Just spent some time in Kansas and Missouri again. Family, food, music and tattoos. Every time I leave there I can’t help but I feel I’m missing out on part of myself. There is so much of New England that just isn’t me anymore.

A group of us, including a salty crew of Rhode Islanders, all were lucky enough to make it to the Trampled By Turtles show at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. I had fun dancing and singing along like I haven’t had since hardcore shows over a decade ago. I forgot what it felt like to have a completely unselfconscious good time seeing a band. Especially alongside some good friends and family.
Couldn’t find video of it online and I was sure as hell hamboning too hard to get pics of my own, so here’s a video of them playing a place I used to love seeing bands, The Filling Station in Bozeman, Montana.

Good times with the nephew.
Pumpkin carving, petting zoos, bobcat feedings, dog walks, Halloween parades, comic books and weird cats.
Saw the new/old Ford.
Tried to outrun a leaking gas tank. Didn’t.
Listened to coyotes yelling at a whistling train just blocks away under a clear crisp starlit night.
So much feels right and calm when I’m out west. And for someone who never feels settled anywhere, that’s about as good as it gets.

More to come.
